So figured Id post this here because this is one of the coolest new fish ive added to my reef. I bought a pair of them after trading in my Lunar Wrasse. These guys swam all over almost like they were introducing themselves. Not they have a spot in the column and they kinda dance with eachother. Every now and again do a synchanized dart to the top of the tank then all the way down to the sand. I am a fan. Sorry for the lame pic

Oh I totally agree! One of my absolute favorites. I have trio in my current tank and am seriously considering adding a bunch more.

years ago I had a breeding pair. They are column spawners and would do a simular breeding dance just after the main lights went out and the actinic still on....they would splash near the surface so keep a tight lid on the tank because they do jump which is how I lost my female...and I dont care what the books say on their size, mine were 5" long with the female having a large girth and the male had a beautiful orange sheen especially around the gill plates....the con is as they get larger they aren't as active and spend most of they day under rocks unless food was present. Wish i could have saved the pics, they were beautiful, but lost them in a computer crash long before photo bucket etc.. to save them.
PS... they will eat anything they can fit in their mouths..GL everyone with theirs...

yea, thats very true!! I forgot both those things, how mine got really large and how they became shy as they got larger, keeping to a over hang, cave or under a shelf.

Still, great lil fishy!!

That's interesting. I've not had any get quite that large, though of my current trio, one is pushing 3 inches already.
