That Moster Mash is really a nice color. Any one have one 4 sale/trade? I have several echinos myself, a few I dont see in these 28 pages of posts.

Unfortunately, my digi camera is down right now so no pic posting for me. I'll get my situation corrected an get some pics up in the next few days.

DRZL-sauras,
In your pic...Your Echino seems awfully close to the the Acan....don't they fight? I lost good chunks off my 2 Echino because they were placed too close to my Acan.

It actually has, the acan won where they touched, which surprised me as echino's are tough!

I just like the contrasting colors too much to seperate them, so let them duke it out I say:rollface:

that sucks. you really should seperate them. =(

My eyes must be getting bad as I didn't think this one was worth posting until I took a picture of it and looked at it on the computer screen. WOW! this one has some nice markings on it!

Do you have a pic that show the whole colony? What kind of lighting does it get (what position in the tank)?

I have one that is pink and blue but not like that, maybe I need to mave it around. Mine is on the sandbed almost directly below a 250w XM 10k.

Thanks,
Scott

Hey Gang, I am looking to find my first one of these babies and I am wondering what the growth rate on these are. Thus far I have only been able to find frags of the insanely colored ones. No one has been willing to part with the entire colony.

Thanks and I love the pics!

I have two that grow pretty good. One was golf ball sized and doubled in a year the other was a saucer shaped and within 3 months it added 1/2" to the radius. I have several smaller frags that took a while to start growing but have been doing ok since then. Hopefully they will take off pretty soon.

What are the frags that you see being sold for?

HTH,
Scott

Thanks for the reply! I have seen some frags ranging from 50-100 but i have been looking for really rare pieces. Last weekend i went to an LFS and I was floored by two that I saw in their show tank. I was told they would sell for about $300 if you could even find it. He said they could perhaps frag it for me but I had not done enough research yet to make an informed decision. If they have a healthy growth rate then I think I would be willing to buy some frags and raise them in my tank:)

Here is one that I got last weekend at the lfs for a decent price. The color is not great yet but there are small areas that are green, purple and blue. I would take any of those.

Here's a few updated pics. It seems that I can't get decent pics of some with my old camera.

Thanks, besides Xenia, it must intrigue people who don't know about reefs, it is the most noticed coral in my tank even though it is very small. When I got the frag I gave a piece to a friend and his looks completely different, no where near as nice. I would love to see the colony if you have a picture of it!

Mummra...that is Awesome...color INTENSE! Here's a few of my newer ones
