That sucks Mark. Your flying saucer was really nice. I know how you feel man. For me an acan echinata fell down, it nuked 1/3 of a watermelon, 1/3 of the tiger stripe chalice, and 1/2 of another watermelon. It hit the trifecta, I was so ****ed I didn't look in the tank for the rest of the day. lol

That sucks Ian. I know its my own fault as I keep adding more and more pieces to my collection :)

well i have tried to stay away from this thread for quite some time now, but today it is just so slow, and i just couldnt fight it anymore.... and all i have to say is wow guys!!!!! someday i will have chalices the size of yours, but by then you will probably have found a new addiction, and i will be posting by myself....

anyways I love all the pics and awesome chalices.....
I still want to see a pic of the infamous monstermash... anyone?

Funny thing Mark...my Flying Saucer got torched by a different chalice in the tank, weird because they all seem to play fair, but these two got into it. I lost 3/4ths of it...but then a few weeks later I noticed a lot of the flesh did not die off, it just seemed to suck into itself. So about 1/2-3/4ths of the chalice is back, no color just a sick looking brown color. But this is all flesh that is happily returning so I figure in a few months I'll be back where I was before the "incident". This one chalice packs a mean punch, it has taken outy 1/3 of my Matai Favia and now the Flying Saucer chalice. I am now secluding it faaarrrr away from other corals.

I have a red zebra striped chalice that got into a battle with an acan lord colony, and the chalice won that battle and ate 4 polyps of the acan. The messenterial filaments from a chalice seem to come from everywhere and can get very long.

man, we get lots of nice fish over here, but we dont seem to get the chalices you guys get..... or atleast not where i live :(

Yep, it will be fine, the tissue is already healing. It has happened to a few of my chalices and they usually rebound. It is a pretty good grower.

Very cool pictures mark. Sorry to hear about the flying saucer.

Thanks Jay. The funny thing is that I was just getting ready to make some frags, oh well :p

Nice mpoletti! I really like your Robokaki and your miami hurricane is one of the nicest I've seen. What is the first chalice called? Sorry to hear about your flying saucer. Same thing happened to my war coral the other day. I came home and it was resting on my lobo and I ended up losing half of my frag completely.

Mark,
sorry about your Flying Saucer bro! that hurts for sure! I just lost a CC Pink Lemonade to a platygyra and it was doing so good! Love the pics as well! very nice stuff as usual :D
