Thanks Nikki, Rob, Sara and everyone :)

The first one I've just been calling the Pot of gold, I don't know if it's the actual name or not.

The one on the right is awesome.I have not seen this one yet.

The one on the right is the mummy eye. We suspect with too much light :o

Hey Pete, I noticed to get that glorious electric green on the Mummy Eye it only needs a little trickle of light, place it in diffused low light and watch that baby turn a beautiful green for you

Yeah, the guy with this original MC has a gorgeous "sunset ME" right now

I dunno, I kind alike the extra yellow-ish color. I have enough green from all my euphyllia anyway...

Can I ask a real LPS noob's question?

When you talk about chalices are you talking about echinophyllias or oxyporas or mycedium or is it a term that covers all three?

I had a coral in my previous tank that might be one of them. Nowhere near as dramatic as anything here, but it was big (about 10" across) and quite a striking green. Apologies for the small pic - I've not worked out how to post pics as big as everyone else...

BTW, I was told it was an echinophyllia, but wonder if it was something else. I know it's not a mycedium, as I had one.

Or at least, I think I did. This is the best I can do, photo-wise.

There are several different looking mycedium. The tilted polyps are a pretty good clue that it is indeed a mycedium. Thats my guess anyways. ;)

If the eyes are tilted and pointing outward, away from the center, it is a mycedium.

that would be great! Thanks bob!

You have it right Mr. Escaped Ape, all three are considered to be chalices (echinos, oxyporas, mycediums, and also echinomorpha).

:) I think they are talking about all three interchangeably and maybe an echinopora or two as well.
