Hey Randy (and you other guys if you want to comment too), if I've got 60g plus 20g sump, figure with all the rocks and sump not full...I've probably got 60g total water volume...how much should I be water changing a week? I'm thinking eight gallons or so. It would be convenient because I could just make up 10g and get the mantis tank and the 60 cube done with that.

It's a far cry from the 45-50g a week I needed to water change all the tanks I used to have.

I'll be skimming heavy but I kinda want to feed heavy too. I've never fed heavy, in all the years I've been reefing so this will be new to me.

IMO - the 10gal would be good for both on weekly or you could 20 every other (16 and 4). It would depend on your numbers. I feed heavy and still do bi monthly changes in a mixed reef.

I think I blew it with Planetes.......after the others chime in someone can reset with a new word.

I know it's more of a pain but I like the smaller weekly water changes. It leads to better stability in the tank. I know it's not a big deal and doesn't matter much...I'm just going to have that as my goal.

I figure if that's my goal then worst case scenario I WC every other week or so.
