Changing from 20k to 6500k iwasaki

Was thinkin about changing my 400 watt halides from 20k radiums to 6500k iwasaki...... was worried about beeching event..... thought about decreasing light times from 10hrs a day to 4-6 any suggestions?? Read much info stating iwasaki has highest par of all bulbs but have also read that people have problems with bleeching when changing spectrum that far from the left to the right.

You can use the screen method to slowly acclimate the corals to the more intense light

When I stepped up from 250s to 400 Iwasakis, I just cut the photo period to about 4 hours the first day then every other day I went up an hour.

thats a huge difference in lighting, have you seen the 6500 iwasakis in operation before? they are YELLOW, you will get good growth but the color definitely isn't going to be anything like it is with 20k.

not trying to tell you what to do or talk you out of it, just make you sure you really like the color before you make the switch.

I have great color corals under 6500ks, mine are yellow - white. A blue VHO helps that

I have one 20k in the middle, I would just change the time you have the bulbs on, just go slow
