I saw someone using a magnifying glass with their cheap camera on a forum a while back does anyone know what type/manification I can use to get a better pic then this?

It will be for pics of small zoo/ric frags on plugs right up against the glass.

You need a camra with a Macro setting and it helps to keep the camera lens up against the glass or close. When you shoot at an angle there is more chance for distortion.

These shots were taken with my old Canon G5. The first one was with it set to Macro.... Second shot was with a 10x close-up lens added.
You can find these G5's for really cheap on Ebay and they do an excellent job for close-ups.

I paid $500 new in 2003'ish so I would say maybe $100 if that. The good thing about this camera is that it has all kinds of attachments you can buy...... wide angle, telephoto lens' and many different close-up lens'..

Here's a few more different photo's with that camera...

Those are some nice pics too^

what would be the next step or 2 up from that camera used?

just incase I come accross a really good deal

I'm definitely looking for a camera in the $200 used off ebay or a pawn store that later I could add maybe a $200 used/new lens

It will be for zoo's/shrooms right against the glass just for selling frags mainly

any other models that might be as good or better in and around the $200 used that is commonly seen on ebay/pawn stores

I think the "G" series is the top end of point n shoot camera's for canon...... its up to G11 now. Then you get into DSLR's and that can be just as expensive as saltwater.

I bought a canon Powershot for my wife and it takes unbelievably close pictures for an out of the box camera.... its shaped more like the DSLR's only little, cramps my hands to use it.

The main reason I suggested the G series is because they have other lens' you can attach to get close-up. not all point n shoots can do that...

My wifes Powershot...off of a $2 bill...

Canon Powershot S5 IS (Image Stabilization) Nice camera..

As far as the G series... They just get better as the number goes up. You just gotta compare them and see if your paying for things you don't need.

The G5 does really well with close work but if you want to shoot landscape or something like that, there are better cameras.
