Building, etc isn't my main worry - when you put 150,000 lights up at Christmas - it also involves a LOT of DIY circuit work (at least in my case it does) So I have done a decent amount work with high-power LED's.

That and somewhere I have 8 feet of extruded aluminum heatsink material.

I'm almost disappointed though. That's more that $1500 worth of stuff, and it came in one smallish box. I was expecting a pallet-o-stuff or something, at least more than that for the $97 shipping.

My Buddy Savage Purchased from this group buy, and I happen to be his personal engineer for this stuff haha, but I did have issues trying to attach the optics to the LEDs with the wires soldered on.

^? I have no idea who that weirdo is, but I picked up a few blues to replace my burnt out crees. Look the same to me haha but yea optics weren't working out. I think I threw them all away.

i hot glued the optics. worked great.

I had James make mine and the system looks great! I did not know what it takes to build one, so I asked if he could build mine. He put a lot of time customizing it to fit into my canopy. I don't have it up and running yet though, as I am not ready (it seems like the build project is taking an eternity). But hopefully soon!

The only thing I was not expecting was the price, I paid more than I initially wanted to. LED's can be expensive as everyone knows, and to make mine more user friendly, I had James add some extra things to it as I do not have a controller yet.

However, James did way more than I would ever of done, as I am not a DIY kind of guy, and I know my price fiancially is not as great of a loss as all of the time he put in to it.

So how much did you end up spending? And for what size or quantity of LEDs. You don't have to answer if you don't want to or just pm me with info.

I'm thinking about jumping into it but hestitant about it not being that great after spending that much money on it.

Pm sent. Not too comfortable discussing price publicly. Not for myself, but the price that was agreed on was between me and James and I do not want to set a precedence based on what he did for me. The price was cheaper than buying a new system from a manufacturer, but was more than I anticipated.
