Cheap pumps

Wayne... I'll be at Demos' tomorrow, too, at 4:30. I'll pick mine up there if you don't mind toting them along. :)

Ok well I put these to the test on a wavemaker to see how well they come on and off. been running most of today and no problems so far. Like any timer that turns the ph on and off I am sure over time it weakens it but for 4.99 a pop I can handle that. Could easily get several of these at that price anyway.

So for 4 powerheads, the chauvet (currentsea) wavemaker from the auction site HERE all shipped to my home for a total of:
$70.14

Wayne,

do you maybe have 1 of these left I can use at the swap in a small frag tank? maybe one I could rent or trade for?

The cool thing is that these things are DC. I'm thinking about cooking up a variable current wavemaker. I may turn it into a class project. :D Shouldn't be too hard...

Anyway, I got mine from Wayne yesterday and these things are GREAT!

Thanks for doing this, Wayne!

I had the same problem with mine, since I have them on a wave timer they would pop off after about an hour.
I just put a bead of silicone in each suction cup and help it up for about 2-3 hours with a piece of pvc and they have been doing great since!

you got a pic of how you rigged it

no my lights are off now but all i did was just drop a bead of silicone on each cup and let it sit. I propped it up with a piece of pvc pipe from the sand. since I have all 12g nano's it was not far to go.

Did you put the silicone in your tank uncured, dzones?

I have all my tanks drilled now so I just killed the flow of water in and drained below the pump, added the silicone and then let it sit. I did not let it completely dry for 24 hours but it was just a small bead in each cup so I think it will be okay with the amount i used...
