Cheato question

My cheato looks like its dying, its starting to become brown. Does anyone know id its dying and if so is that necessarily a bad thing?

Type of lighting and how long? Also check to make sure brown algea isn't growing on top of it. Will make it look like the cheato itself is turning brown/dying.

I put a 36 inch t-5 bulb that I purchased at home depot, I believe its 21 watts. I will see if its algae growing on the cheato

May need to try a new bulb. Not sure if the reg T-5 bulb with that fixture is strong enough. Maybe try a 50/50.

sometimes I have to manually roll it over- get better flow thru it.

I didn't think you need any particular kind of lighting for. Cheato?
