check out how this club runs their frag swaps

F that. last time i drove to strongville OH, this bearded freak came home with me. $ 1200 bucks was only the beginning.

Last year we had over 500 paid swappers. This year we're expecting more so we added on another adjoining room. I'll be making the trip out your way Tuesday to go skiing at holiday valley! Not a bad road trip happy for the snow finally

Wow. Very impressive. The Double Tree in Henrietta would be perfect for this. I've gone to many food shows there and the lay out would be perfect.

Mike we should hook up... it's been too long anyways. I wouldn't mind chatting about the possibilities.

Gorgeous dog; great photo;worth the trip even if you can't frag it.

Lately participation in swaps in this area has been low compared to the past from my perspective. Don't know what it would take to move it forward.

Stusdesktop, hope your surgery goes well.

I have a theory

I have a theory

why attendance might be low to our swaps recently

First, each region (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse) has multiple small swaps each year.

Second, they are nothing like the one I just linked to in Ohio.

One reason could be we are very loosly organized club. Another is, there is no pattern to our swaps. Perhaps we should have preset, annual events. We have been waiting to do our spring weekend thing and keep it as only large club event of the year.

I agree

I agree

and maybe that's the way most people would prefer it to be.

I don't really mind but it WOULD be kewl to have an event like that Ohioh one around here.......

Seriously it looks like a great event. Strongsville could easily pass for any Western NY burb. I wouldn't underestimate the work involved with planning a event of this magnitude . Its a easy drive. A party bus full of fish dorks could be fun. I suspect finding 20 people willing to pony up $ might be a more realistic goal. Maybe if a few lfs banded together it might be easier to swallow. The owners i know have a full plate, gambling the time and $ doesn't seem likely.

this would be more between a club like URS and sponsors...

I see our LFS's getting involved after some groundwork is done.
Like ARC probably wasn't involved in planning that Ohio thing but I'd be surprised if he wasn't represented in some form or another.
