check out my lfs display tank 300 cube ooooohhh aaahhh

I don't know what you have for stores in Tacoma, but I assure you it is worth the drive from Vancouver Wa. And if I lived in Tacoma I would be hard pressed to not drive down to Upscales. Beautiful store! Awesome display tanks! Randy...If you can post some pics of Upscales other display too. The pics Randy posted are only one of the awesome display tanks at upscales. He also has a really sweet 220gal. I think it is. Been up and running a lot longer then the 300gal. cube tank pics posted here. Very sweet store with very high quality frags. Man now I'm going to have to make the trip soon! Thanks Randy!

Alright I'll give you a quick run down of the tank. The tank is 48" x 48" x 30" 1" thick uerobrace built by Envision. For lighting I have six 400w mogul base halides all run off PFO HQI ballasts. I am running two radiums and four Helios 20k. I run a super low nutrient system (phosphates 0.0 - 0.2 on colorometer). Besides my calcium reactor the only supplements I use are Salifert amino acids and Kents Coral vite. I run 100mg ozone twelve hours per day mainly for water clarity. The tank is about two years old.
I will post a couple full tank shots later today. And maybe a pick of the other tank(now refered to as the bastard stepchild).:D
Thanks for the compliments
Travis

I wish my main tank looked as good as your bastard stepchild :)

Seriously wow that's a lot of lighting power! I'd hate to see the electric bill for that thing. I've seen bills for places that don't have that much lighting and those are out of site!

oooooooooooooh...

I recently dropped our club's donation to the Steinhart Aquarium, and to their frag growout/QT tanks, they had 30-1000watt MH running in there, needless to say it was a tad hot in the room.

Travis thanks for the pics of the 220. I love that tank. I really love the cube too. Just wanted to make sure evryone knew that was not the only display in the store. For anyone within 250 miles of the Portland area it is worth the trip.

Randy is sort of right. I feed my fish twice a week if they are lucky. I do also feed cycopeeze twice a week. wrasses, hawks, and damsels do great since they feed off of reproducing organisms in the tank. Tangs and rabbits tend to get very skinny and don't survive. Do you want neon colored Acropora or do you want fat tangs? I choose to have skinny tangs.:D
I have been feeding a LITTLE more lately since I have been getting 0.00 phosphate reading on my colorometer. Plus I get tired of pulling anorexic tangs off of my closed loop intakes.
I add my aminos and coral vite twice a week.
Travis

interesting....thanks for the info. Ive run into problems with coral lightening in color when I feed that little. If it aint broke, dont fix it though eh?

The step child is really a sweet tank. He used to have a man eating Clam in it that probably weighs 75-80 lbs. It now resides in a tank that I have no idea how he squezzed it in there, or how he got it out of the 225 for that matter. You can see a old pic of the 225 with the clam still in it at upscales.com.
