You don't see these too often in the States. They are captive bred and were brought in several weeks ago. Some of their sibs are headed to the New England Aquarium.

Here is a vid so you won't have to go visit.

They are great. Problem was getting them into the US. Over 1600 miles logged doing so, not to mention the attempts crossing the border.

You know that the breeding female died. No more pups to come for a while.

Here is a photo of my adult female. She is a good 30 inches now and has the Western Australian pattern. It appears that these pups have the Northern patterning, which is probably more difficult to obtain in the US. Though they are all uncommon here.

What's the species? I dont know much about sharks.

Nevermind, I just saw the tag at the bottom saying speckeled epaulette.

What size tank and what temps are you keeping these guys at?

And while I'm at it, what all species of shark do you keep?

The pups are in my Qt tank which is a 125. A pair will eventually go into a 300 tub. Temp for them is 78 - 82f. They are from the north where the water temps sore into the mid 80s. They max out at about 30 inches.

I have currently 3 different eppie species
short tail nurses
tasseled wobbies - got a good post on these beasts here

And a female Arabian that needs a good home.

As for 40 gal breeder. Yes, probably 6 months. But I am looking for some one with experience and wiilling to setup a breeding progrm or a public aquarium For these guys.

I need to buy a fisheye lens. My basement looks like a aquaculture facility with a bunch of tubs. I use bead filters, Heterotrophic and autotrophic denitrators, and skimmers. I'm in the process of switching everything over to separate systems. Only two are still currently combined. I no longer want cross contamination. I had a recent problem with a parasitic amphipod with the old eppies and wobbies that wreaked havoc and took months to diagnose and finally eradicate.
