I do agree, that if this chip was previous to the sale and the buyer was not informed ahead of time, that the seller should offer a refund. But unless the seller has refused to refund the money, I think this thread has served its purpose. The buyer has asked a question and has gotten several good answers to it.

Ok, apparently it took me a long time to write this post and it is now outdated...sorry.

Also if the buyer went to pick up the tank it should have been inspected but damn .. thats a big chip.

There were moldings covered the chip. It could not be seen because of them. He did not know to remove the moldings untill it came up in conversation, after he had already taken possesion. As far as he knew the moldings were a "factory" application.

Call City Glass 232-6491 tell the Chris @ Fastenal sent you, I don't know if they will give you a discount but it never hurts. they will cut the glass but not install it. you will have to have the exact dem's as well, " inside the trim" I'm sure there is someone in the club that is handy with a tube of silicone. Good luck!

I was told they were like that from the Factory. Just for everyone in the Future Please Watch out for this seller. I would hate to have someone taken advantage of like was.

But in the link to the original thread there were no mouldings.

This buyer was not a member of RC until after he bought the tank. He found if from a craigslist ad. Then the seller told him about these forums...which leads us to now.

This is so very unfortunante. I wonder why Justin will not come on this thread and explain where he is coming from. He should come on board and plead his case so as this issue doesn't get any dirtier than it has already become.

I am sorry this happened to you but not surprised a bit. Bad things happen to good people.

I may be wrong but if you use photo shop to blow up the original pic from the sale thread and look right next to the mag float on the left I beleve you can see the crack.

Sounds like a case for the Internet Fraud Dept at the FBI and a call to the Local DA This is how I recoverd the rest of my money when I was defrauded out of 400.00 when I was part of a Group Buy with the COMAS organization.

For the most part the people of COMAS are great people.

I have already talked to a friend at the DA's office. I know alot of people working in the Car Buisness. I really dont want to take it to that point, if he would just pay for the neceassary repairs, And save his name. I guess alot of people feel the same about this seller.

jrod-I hope you don't let this one encounter leave a bad taste in your mouth. There are a lot of honest people on these forums. Most of which are hardworking and very experienced, whom we can learn from. I'm glad you provided everyone with your personal experience, and in a respectful manner.

Jrod,

I am really sorry that your first encounter with COMAS has been this bad. I sincerely hope that this does not taint your impression of what COMAS is about and what we stand for.

I am also appalled that you have clearly been deliberately misled regarding this tank, and having said that I hope that Justin will make this right with you.

Should that not happen, I know that there are several members here who have replaced panels in tanks before and who would be more than willing to help you do this- so long as you understand the "liability" rests upon yourself. If you do have to go that way, and you end up buying a new glass panel, please let me know how much it cost you and I promise to give you coral frags equal to that amount from my system.
I understand that does not repay you for your time and justified anger over this situation, and again for that - on behalf of the club- I am sorry.

Jason Anderson is absolutely correct, for the most part the members of COMAS are great people who are more than willing to help out. I sincerely hope this doesnt leave you with a bad taste for the club.

I also applaud your restraint in posting your experiences.

Paul.

Paul isn't there something in are rules about this type of activity? I personally don't see this as a mistake from the evidence this was clearly planned out.

paul ,
i think it's damn nice of you to step up to the plate, when none of this is your doing or responsibility.
guess its true the cream rises to the top.
i tell you what i'll throw in 20.00 to go to the panel. anyone wanna match me

jrod_vr4
When you get this tank up and going I will help you out with some free frags. Just look me up. Let us all know if you get the panel replaced or get another tank or what ever I will help you out.
In the mean while I hope Justin will make this right with you. Like everyone says you don't normally see this type of conduct from Comas.

J-Rod I will do whatever I can to help you get up and going, If everyone wants to chip in and help purchase a new pane of glass I am in. When your up and going give me a shout and I will hook you up with a couple of frags
