Ok a friend of mind wanted me to post this picture.
I have had an atapisa problem for quite sometime now and by the time I figured out that Atapisa was bad, it was too late. Im new to reef keeping, but have had a fish only setup for quite sometime now.
Hopefuly everyone will get a kick out of this and also realize that it could be much worse.

P.S. I have started killing off several and im now down to real small ones.

Well look at the bright side...you'll never have to catch that damsel you put in there to cycle the tank ahahaha.

I'm glad you finally took my advice and posted the pic. I'm glad I'm not the only one to see this. You failed to mention that I've been on you for at least a year to get rid of them. :D That's also a deceiving picture, it's only 1/4 of the tank. :strooper: Well, I'll help you get some pickling lime and spend a day off stopping the thousand atapisa march.

Syringe and lemon juice killed the one that showed up in my tank in about 15hours. Found him laying dead on the sand bed afterwards.

My 46bow is slowly being taken over by valonia. Big deal though, it only has two fish and some old green/brown mushrooms. Between that and the calerpa it is kind of pretty.

Of course I could always try to pass it off as my "planted" reef tank.:D

You'd be surprised how many people that are looking to get into the hobby come into the LFS and comment on how beautiful the Valonia sp. is and ask how much it costs...

The reason that I have so much is because I am not as dilligent with water changes as I should be on that tank, and also it is home to a mean lunare wrasse and a puffer, so no clean up crew possibilities for that tank!

I have found that using Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime works on killing them. Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m now down to real small ones. Plus Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m fresh water dipping the LR to help out.
Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m changing my lighting and re-aquascaping the tank at the moment.
