The description of habitat ("dead plates of Acropora sp. covered in corallinealgae") fits exactly. This specific type of coralline on this rock is a bit different than the other corallines - it's quite a bit thicker and glows lightly under actinic.
I have found nothing on its diet - I have no idea what it eats, but somehow it has survived for well over two years...
