Chinese LED Group buy Chicago.

I will be going the C-channel route,i pm'd jae kang and there are no heat issues.

Good reminder Gus.

So I have replaced the dead driver today and have noticed that I no longer have a heat issue. I can't say that this was the driver or not, but yesterday my heat sink was still warm to touch and today it feels fine its not cold by any means but I can garb hold of it and not no longer have any discomfort.
'
So I am rather happy that this issue came up ( as long as I don't have another). I am still waiting on Ava from Fedy to respond, but with an order my size I expected something to go wrong. Especially for the price.

I'm going to hold on to my extra LED's for a bit just in case that channel was over driven.

anyone find a good local source for the c channel? something better than menards stock. whats the 18k look like. i don't want a too blue look. do you guys think its worth getting the 15k led and the royal blue combo or stick to the 18k and RB combo.

thanks

If your trying to stay away from "too blue" then I don't think that 15,000k would be a bad route. Even through just my 18,000k its a slight bit blue, this is why I will be adding warmer colors. But that is just my taste everyone has their own look that they prefer.

So if i go majority 18k and 1/4 of the light go RB on a dimable driver. i could probly get where i want to be. i like the xm 20k color

Are you still doing a group buy for LED's? I'm interested in getting in. Can these be run of different drivers like meanwell's or stevesleds?

they just got back to me.

Lifespan of led is 50000hours.
The decay is 3%-5% within 1000hours.

So what is their definition of "lifespan?" If this is MTBF, you will not get anywhere near that figure. If this is half life(light is 50% dimmer) then you won't want to use it beyond that figure. Even if this is half life, the figure will assume the most ideal cooling conditions and you will have a hard time reaching that number. If LEDs are not properly cooled, you can reach its half life in months! For comparison, T5 lights have MTBF of 20,000 hours with its useful life of about 5000 hours.

This was just sent to be from Ava at Fedy. My 85W driver is not listed for some reason. She stated that its not common for the 85w to go bad since its "much better than the 200w" but it can happen.

im postponing the buy until next week. I need to make some final decisions and it will give time for more people if they want in.
