I like this kinda crisp look. And ill post another also

If i didnt suck so bad with pictures, Id like to show you really what these lights looks like... Ill try again today.

WHat size is that tank travis?

Right now its a 65 but I'm gonna be setuping up a 60 long 18 wide and 24 tall 120 gallon tank

I am almost postive after my research I can get away with two cause its not gonna be an sps heavy tank cause I may do agressive fish and do just softies but if I did 3 it would be tons of light to grow anything I just don't need that much

O and yea an accurate pic of what the 30 to 25 ratio lookslike would be awesome and helpful!

Cause you and ianwraab have the same unit with the same ratio but in his pics it looks more on the blue side and in yours it looks more white then his did and I know its just the pictures

I'm still torn on going with the norm unit from aliexpress or the A4 ...

Little more money the A4 has a better fan system for heat control and its easier to repair so when u need parts from chinatown its not so hard to fix I hear.

I know a few in here went with the A4 so make sure you get pics and reviews asap

I just installed my led lights from aliexpress. This thing is bright! I'm running it at white 25% blue 40% right now to acclimate my corals and fishes. My tank is 36x20x15. As you can see there are some dark spots on the edges, but it's not running 100% yet. I will try to raise it up a little to get more spread or order another one.

tank looks good, way to go. what optic lens are on that unit?

sorry Its a 72" tank 3 units 120' optics.

Chromey, the picture of your fixture on Imageshack does not have Optics on them, is this what you are referring to, or are you using a different set of fixtures that are not in the photo set? That is just a piece of glass over the diode with NO lens in at all. That is strictly to protect the Diode itself not provide a direction for the light to beam down. Just an FYI, if they sold you those and said they had optics they sent you the wrong lights.

Here is a link for LED's with Optics on them.

R optics and lenses the samething ? Cause I thought no optics was 120 degrees? Or maybe I was no lenses? And a tank 24" and lower doesn't need them and can use 120 degrees?

The optic is the overall larger casing around the diode, the lens is the insert in the middle that actually has the degree/curve on it. If you look closely on the optic you can see in the middle of the circle the lens is curved.

I took 1 out to be sure, And it is in fact a optic, It looks like a magnifying glass when you look through it.

Im sure thiers more then 1 make or disign of optic.

What happens if an LED fails?
Are they individually replaceable, or do you have to buy a whole light kit all over again?

Depends on the light. Some can be replaced modularly, and some you might need to solder a new diode on. Some might not be repairable at all. If one fails, the whole fixture should continue to work though.
