I went with 30 blue 21 whites 4 violets I am happy with it but if I could do it over id do 34 blue 17 white 4 violets ....

I have 24:24 white:blue. It gives a 14k Phoenix like look this way, with less blue. I have to turn the whites down almost halfway with blue at full blast to get a 20k look.

If you want the Phoenix look or bluer, 2:1 blue:white is the way to go.

I went with
Switch 1: 24 Royal Blue + 4 UV
Switch 2: 23 White + 4 Violet

I have a few more whites. If I want more blue I will get some replacement bulbs and mix and match. It is hard to tell until you have it over your tank.

Got a 65 coming 36x18x24

Anyone got recommendations for LED and a link to Sam that is talked about.

Would like a dimmable unit that I can custom fit blue/white and violet leds.

I started on page 1 of this thread looking for lighting options. 6 hours later... WOW!

I'm starting a 180G tank and was quoted $2000 for lighting at my LFS. *faints*

Where can I contact "Sam" to get the D120's that you have Travis? I see them on Aliexpress as previously shown but if it shaves off delivery time I'd definitely like to go direct. BTW, Travis, your tank is AWESOME!

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread! As a newbie, this has been very educational.

I've got two of Reefbreeders.com value fixtures that should come in sometime next week. They should be dimmable via my Reef Angel controller.

Let us know how you like them.
I'm thinking of geting them also. $200 and dimmable with a apex sounds great.

Id keep the violets on the blue switch my goes 28 one switch 27the other

Switch one 19 blues 4 whites(to break up the blue windex look) and 4 violets

Switch 2 17 whites 11 blues

I do that cause I have a single reefbrite led to run for my pop effect day and night so if. Was to get it with 34 blues 17 whites 4 violets id do it switch one 19 blues 4 white 4 violets and switch two 14 blues 13 whites

If you want it to be a sick pop look for your blue switch do all blues and violets one switch and the rest on the other... Ya want the violets on the blue switch though cause they bring out the extra colors in the coral

Thx for your super quick reply and advise.

I current have a 60 gallons, 48" x 18" x 17", w/ softies, lps, n sps. I am planning to ditch my Aquaticlife 4-lamps T5 for two of these led fixtures. Do u think the sps will be doing ok w/ your advised configuration?

I think with two any configuration will do it great.... Gonna be nice.... But remember m taste might not be yours make sure my recomendation is what you would want

Is it possible that they can make a configuration of LED's to my taste?

Combination of whites/blues/violets? Possibly put moon lights as well? 3-dimmers?

Might be asking a lot for custom work but I am just trying to gauge if it is better to go DIY with what I would like or if they can actually built one like it.

A few people have ordered custom ratios. No one has requested moon lights yet, but email and see if they will do it.

These are some of the custom orders placed so far. http://www.aliexpress.com/store/317880/211629222/D-120w-with-DIY-Ratio.html

Man all those ratios are wayyyy too white for me..... The white are pretty powerful so they over power the blues in a 50/50 setting but that's just my opinion....

For their 55 LED system, I emailed them to see if they have

10k, 6.5k, Blue, Violet, combo they can do. It would be mostly blues, 4 violet and probably a few 6.6k white. Still up in the air on ratio and even adding 2 whites.

I am looking for a 15k to 20k look but again, would like a good light spectrum.

I may be asking too much from them but we shall see.
