Chinese LED Lights

Does anyone have a evergrow or twilight fixture over a 30" tall tank? Im curious if the are strong enough to go that deep. What optics are you using 90d or 60d? Thsnks

I have both 90 and 120's and posted par results with pics in a previous post on this thread. my tank is 31" deep

I would say that you would be fine with three fixtures, but I am sure others that have similar size tanks as yours will chime in. I got mine straight from Twilight. If you want I can PM you Lyn's contact information? My old light fixture was a 48 inch skyled that I purchased through truaqua. It has three colors white, blue, and red that were controlled through separate switches. They were only on/off no dimming function. They were fine when my tank was a FOWLR but once I started to add a couple corals I decided an upgrade was needed. So far I am very happy with my new lights, still working my event times to get the colors as I want.

That would be great if you would pm me Lyn's contact info to me! Thanks.

Ok so im ordering a light today frm reefbreeders the 199 one. I have a 36 inch tank im going to have lps and softies. What would be better 90 optics or 120 optics

one for a 36" tank i would get the 120 for more spread, 90's are more of a beam IMO

With 120 optics would thst be enough lighying to grow most lps

I have a mixed tank but its ALOT of acro's I can grow anything, anywhere in my tank, under the 90's or the 120's with the same color as halides..

I dont get fancy with different colors..just blue and whites for LEDS and VHO actinics for my 420nm wavelength.. The combo seems to be a true winner for me..

I am deciding between a 22" and 27" tank depth. Will these lights be able to grow all corals at the 27" depth or am I better to get the 22" tank.

Is it just the led that is 90 or 120 degree? And the optic is just a standard optic? Or is there also 90 and 120 degree optics that go over the 90 or 120 degree led lenses ? I thought it was the first .... someone explain better if ya can

So I read most this thread and need some opinions. Im looking at the d120. I have a 65g tanke with a center brace. The tanks is 36 inches. I like a 18k look and from reading other posts Im assuming one fixture with 90 degree is what im looking for. What color pattern do I need for this look? Any opinions?

What color look is everyone going with?

Thanks

Here is my LED layout.

Thanks for the layout

As of now I'm planning to add 4 greens, 4 violets and 4 reds to the fixture that I will order this coming week. I'm still not sure what whites will I use on 3500, 6500, 12000 and how many whites and blues. Thank you again :strange:

What do you guys think about the view that red does nothing for the corals (it is filtered out very quickly in the ocean), but does increase algae growth?

Lies. 660nm and also 630nm red used sparingly actually does quite a bit. It increases color in coral, and it is also used in photosynthesis. They are essential in any build I put together, as well as 405nm and 420nm violets.

Hi Bhazard do you have a post somewhere here in the forums where I can see your evergrow led lights in action both channels in 100%?

I'm glad i found this thread! been thinking of trying one. seems every one on other forums are so negative about chines lights learning alot thanks guys for being opend minded and willing 2 give some thing else a try other than just top of line leds which i can't afford.

Well, standard Blue White fixtures ARE crap. A bunch of us have tested many different models and tried many different layouts to achieve very much usable units that will grow coral, and keep their color.

The proof is in the many tanks that are using them right now.

I strongly disagree that standard blue/white are crap, i run 5 of them .. i doubt its only my two 6 foot VHO super actinics that are giving my corals color and growth..

For my frag tank( half of it) i am now running a mixed color LED and will post results in the future
