Chinese LED Lights

Yea I have 120 degree leds no optics ... its in a canopy and its covers my 36" tank but I'm soon gonna upgrade to a 60" tank and need 2 lights to cover that tank .... I know 2 of the style light I have now would cover it fi e but I wanna use 90 degree this time with optics and worry if they will cover the tank

Those VHOs fill in the missing spectrum that cool white/royal blue fixtures cannot provide. Without them, your coral would lose color within a few months, and may not grow as quickly. I've have seen it firsthand, as my first fixture was blue/white only, and it explains why so many AI Sol blue owners switched back to halides.

That does make sense, IME i never ran my halides without the VHO's either...i would never run anything without them..

I am currently running just a blue/white fixture and will see how that goes in the next couple of months on a portion of my frag tank..

The difference between the d120 and Nova is that the Nova has an aluminum heatsink in it. You can change either one's leds at any time. They must be similar bridgelux/epistar leds.

The Reefbreeders layout is good, although I prefer mixing in neutral and warm whites in along with cool whites.

The easiest way to tell, is to look at acans that are normally red, or SPS' with a lot of color. They will change from red to orange, dull, or brown out over time.
 
so i was thinking about the T2040 does anyone have them? is it any good? I currently run 3 400 watts mh 20k over my 84" x 24" x 24" mixed reef would these be good enough? and do you think 4 units would be enough? thanks your in put would be most helpful!
 
Bhazard, how does this ratio sound for the nova A6

Dimmer 1= 24 led's
12 White 6500k
4 White 12k
4 White 16k

Dimmer 2= 48 led's

24 Royal Blue
9 Blue
6 Violet
3 Red
3 Orange
3 Green

what do you think???

Just spoke to Brian at Gehl and they are now filling orders for the LCD controllable/dimmable lights that are the same as the IT2040's, less one fan and the moonlights. They said they have a model coming out with the moonlights, which I couldn't imagine there being much of a price difference.

Has anyone used the 300w fixture with just white and blue leds. Would it work with just two on a 220g 72x24x30? Are they to much lighting in one spot? Any thoughts would be great thanks.

I would either try and switch out some leds to put in other colors or do t5's or other fixture to get full spectrum.

Just finished modifying my Nova A4. I got itr with 20 royal blue and 4 violet on dimmer 1, and 16 white, 4 UV and 4 Royal blue on dimmer2. This was just too blue for my taste. I like a very crisp color. I dont like whites to look blue. I also do not like to use the dimmers for color adjustments, so I wanted to get the color as close to where I liked it at 100% both channels. I have been slowly adding and taking away certain colors and I have finally hit exactly how i like it. The final LED layout is 20 royal blue and 4 violet on dimmer 1. 12 Neutral white, 4 warm white, 4 UV, 2 red, 2 green on channel 2. Here are some pics. The colors in the pic are just slightly more white than real life. I am very happy with how they turned out.

The fixtures are good but the experience I just had from them wasn't good. I had to wait about a month to get mine and they just shipped them out today when they told me it was shipped this past Saturday.

No fix as far as I know. They would need to fix it. They told us when we were ordering those fixtures that the clocks aren't working properly and usually run 5-10 mins ahead at the end of the day so they had to order new lcd screens and fix them. They fixed ours before shipping it out so hopefully we won't have that problem. Try contacting them about it, they should fix it.

Since evergrow has so many bulbs to choose from I'd love to know which ones you ordered or what you put on your sheet to order. I ask because this is the bulb selection that was provided to us for our club buy and they don't really match what they send out on the excel sheets to order:

590-600nm yellow is so close to a warm white that it may not be needed if you use some warm whites. I'll be testing it in my next diy fixture, which is going to be one amazing light for my 120 gallon. The tank gets converted from fresh to salt this weekend.

What is the max K Whites that YOU personally use in your fixtures. There is such a wide K range in the Bridgelux LEDS that EG is using in these D120's is hard to choose.

As far as the 590-600nm (yellow)- I like the way the new Radion's look using them surrounded by other colors with just the Cool Whites.
