it's not so much the voltage as it is the amperage from the drivers, and heat plays a big factor in LED endurance, it could be that the thermal transfer from the LEDs to the heatsink is not up to par too, make sure you use a good thermal paste/grease between the diode and the heat sink
1-3wks is a long wait IMO compared to Bubbas Guppies. Barrier Reef Aquariums has em too and they charge you an extra 20 for another yr warranty when the standard is 3 from the manufacturer.
3. Its what a friend had on his 180 with good growth
Oh.....I forgot to mention that the only way to keep the price reefbreeders, barrier reef aquariums AND bubbas guppies sells the units at is because they are shipped directly from the manufacturers.....my an should tell you that i'm EOD BTW if you were military.
Where is the d2040 for sale?
i got mine through a local vendor, exoticreefcreations.com who is also a sponsor on the other major reefing forum. there was a group buy through my local forum and i grabbed a few to check out the new upgrade. here's some info i got from ERC on them that i think is safe to share since it doesn't have pricing and seems like the typical evergrow ads they have out complete with misspellings and all, haha. ERC is awesome to work with and they have a 3-year warranty. they will changing up their website soon to allow for ordering through the site and do all your free customizations online which i think is going to be pretty neat.Planning on getting some D120W led lights, how many would i need for good coverage on a 125 standard 72x18x22? Planning on having mostly SPS corals. I see a lot of people saying they no longer make these and only sell 2040s? I can find the D120s on ebay but have not found anything for 2040s links or some more info would be helpful!
I've done lots of research when it comes to the IT series. One thing I like is they are actually local for me. I've met Martin in person at one of our local club meetings and is great. Former military and trying to support his family. He's even making a way to add an aftermarket controller to the D120's and is gonna start working with Coral Expressions also for that. He's spent 5yrs in the hell-hole and has a tough time these days actually meeting people. One thing I do have to to really say is he knows his stuff. Fixed quite a few 120w units after warranty was up. I'm not making any money from him by putting his name out there. But just giving credit to a man who has spent his 10yr career in the military overseas. We have a meeting once a month for PTSD.....and that man has been through a lot. Because i'm still active duty I can relate to an extent. He is very open to questions if you have them when it comes to his web page and diy sales. I'm just looking out for the Lil guy that's getting shafted by uncle Sam I guess....if you have a warranty issue he'll try and fix it personally before going to the manufacturer. I guess I just support a veteran more than I would anyone else at this point. Plus he can get you the units faster instead of making a bulk order while still being cheaper.
bend some conduit and secure to your stand for a clean modern look. there's a bunch of DIYs out there.im intrested in these also.
im looking for 2 kits for my 120g 4'x2'x2' tank
the problem is i do not want to mount them on the wall or ceiling and have not fond any tank rail mounting kits that will work with out modifiying them.
any one have suggestions?
Thanks Delta! Since you know him, maybe you could pass along to Martin that a little more personal info on his website would be good. Like I said, looking at the site, there is limited info regarding where he is located, etc. I am sure he is on a limited budget but a little good marketing goes a long way. He also doesnt have anything listed in his return policy and putting something there may increase buyers confidence. Last thing is that he says delivery is from 2 to 12 weeks. Maybe he could periodically post updates letting folks know what average ship time is this time of year, etc.
Is there any way to contact him directly other than filling out the form on his website?
Again, thank you for the info and I will check him out.
