yes i have the difficulty thing down ,been there done all i could think of . i think that i will even acclimate them in a container with sugar size gravel so they can burrow during that process . what do you think ?
I would not do that because if they go into the sand, you will disturb them when you make the transfer into your tank. Best to know the SG of the water that is being shipped; you can then figure out how long acclimation will take. How long will the ship time be? The one I have was obtained at my LFS and transferred by car to my home, then temperature acclimated and released. (SG was the same for LFS and my tanks 1.025+)

i dont know the ship time but its something that i will know when i pick them up and can deal with at that time . you didnt drip them because the sg was right on correct ? the sand wont let the water penetrate thus different sg huh ? i will take you advise ,what i have been doing hasnt proven sucessful so i have to change up mt efforts .
I can only say what I did, but that is not advice. However, I definitely do NOT advise acclimation with sand because disturbing any leopard after it is under would be much too stressful. The other three leopard wrasses, I did drip acclimate but those came from Rhinelander, WI and had shipping time. My Choati had 15 MINUTES of carry time and the water at the LFS and home were virtually identical.

they are just so delicate and probably get their butts kicked during the collection and shipping process that they dont stand a chance of surviving . it seems like the lottery at times .from whay i have read they are purged of all food and waiste for a couple of weeks before the initial shipping and then are in warehouses for prolonged periods then they get shipped to the distributors and then to out LFS . thats quite a journey if you ask me . so many of thease fish should never be taken out of the ocean because the really dont stand a chance of living in a aquatium setting .

good story there Steve , the 11 am shipment was held in philly untill 6 pm because there were 6 boxes on the shipping tag and only 5 were there so they held them until the lfs tracked them down and told them to ship without the 6th box . funny thing is the 6th box was hard goods and the shipper sent that on another plane . so yes he looks okay ,very cold water so i slowly temp acclimated him and put him into my tank . he is undr the gravel as expected ,lets see what tomorrow brings .honestly im not gonna hold my breath on this one because of the temp being so low and also the bag was completely deflated . time will tell ,he is a large male about 3 1/2" and looks fat and happy in the bag .

I decided to give other people a chance with them today; I sat there with both of them in my cart, waiting, waiting, waiting. Whoever got the first one was pretty good, did it in less than a minute or so. The second one sat in my cart for 10 minutes or so. Steve, I was hoping you got one- I posted on Facebook to try and get your attention that they were up, lol. Are you still looking for another?
I was surprised they both didn't go to the same person, I made the same assumption you did.
