ChocoChip Starfish

I just got this really nice, big starfish from fishfood (thanks Rich!). What's it doing???

maybe thats its stomach coming out? i know sometimes they evicerate their stomachs to digest food so maybe its coming out because hes stressed or something? not sure

Doesn't seem stressed or anything. Maybe it's eating the cyno on the glass?

Hi Jen,

I should have told you this before you left sorry....I keep my salinity at about .027 - .028 and my temps run higher 84- 86 during the day (this is actually closer to Ocean temps.) So if not acclimated over a longer period of time this would be caausing "Chip" to stress out.......

SG in that tank is 1.028 right now but temp is 78. Acclimated for about 1/2 hr. I doesn't do that all the time. Just noticed it yesterday & then when I fed it, the "parts" went away.

Starfish will turn thier stomach's inside out to feed somtimes. also keep in mind that they will turn thier stomach's inside when they are dying so if he does it for a day or two you may them want to pull him out but I am sure he is just eating. Proabaly looking for some GSP's

I had a chocolate chip star and he'd do the same thing.. Thats how they eat.
