So if you had to pick one to put on a seahorse tank which one?

9 wt in tank uv sterilizer with built in pump 211 gph
13 wt same as above
9wt uv sterilizer in line
or a HOB protein skimmer

Im leaning toward the sterilizer but just wanted to get other opinions.:headwalls:

Protein skimmer. Keep was cool and you won't need the steralizer

I agree with not using UV as it is only going to affect nasties that are waterborne, whereas most of the bacteria that are problematic are found on surfaces, not in the water column itself.
However, I'd go with a protein skimmer rated for at least 5X the tank size, and preferably about 10X.
