Chris's Anemones

Now that my carpet is doing better I though I'd start a new thread since my old one is for an id. I picked up a gig not that long ago and it desperately needed treatment. When I fist got it it was deflated and had its mouth open. I put it in a qt tank right away while I waited for meds. Thankfully a local reefer had some to last a few days until mine came in the mail. Unfortunately by the time it recovered it had bleached out. Now it's starting to regain its color. When I bought it from the LFS it was yellow but from what I understand it could be green and I got it when it was starting to bleach out. I hope it truly is a yellow if not then as long as it stays happy and healthy. Well on to the pics I guess. I am running LEDs so it's hard for me to bring out the true color. I just can't seem to figure it out.

I checked for EXIF data on the pics, but there isn't any available. What are you using to take pics???

If you want to get a truer representation ion of the color, turn the lights off, put the lens as close to the glass as possible and turn your flash on. What's happening with you showed is the blue spectrum is over exposing and blowing out. LED's are common for doing this. There are other ways than I mentioned, and it will end up being a different tighting. The shot of the bta in your folder is good.

AV mode with manual white balance is the best way

Honestly the best way is to shoot in RAW and adjust in post, but That requires software and a bit of practice. Also with LED's it's still annoying since most software only goes to 20k and the blues in LED's are brighter than the reds and greens.

I think one day I will just turn down the blues so it's not so intense and hopefully the pictures will come out a little better that way.
