Christmas Party

So when is it? The weekends in December are; the 2nd/3rd, 9th/10th, 16th/17th, 23rd/24th.. well one other but its kinda After Christmas.. which defeats the purpose.

My vote is the 16th/17th or 23rd/24th (but most will probably have commitments for Christmas eve weekendhuh)

The 9th is when it's going to be...I'm pretty sure.

If we wait til the 16th it will interfere with too many other holiday/company parties...happens every year. Either way though we are going to be unable set it at a date where everyone can make it, ya know?

So anyways...that's why I am pretty sure it's already set for the 9th (a week and a half). We'd better get to talking about it.

So I guess Chris went ahead and started our thread ;)

The 9th or 16th would be fine with me--like Mel said though, later in the month starts to become busy for many people, so perhaps the 9th would be better? Can we use this thread for setting the date and getting a head-count?

BTW, the "meeting" will be in Jefferson City (Talbott actually), a bit of a drive from K-town, but manageable. I will give the directions to Scott/Runner to post on the ETRC site. I don't have the nicest reefs, but there's a nice view anyway :) We should also discuss the most important thing: FOOD! I can't talk about it right now, still full of sushi :D

Also, we were going to continue with the "white elephant" ETRC ornament exchange. Everyone who wants to participate (completely optional of course) will bring a wrapped ornament for the exchange. We thought we'd set a limit of $15, and we will draw numbers and go from there. This has been a fun activity in past years.

9th is our weekend with Jordyn and I doubt I can talk Pauline into another Xmas party with her (not sure I'd even want to after last year chasing her around all night). I'm not sure Pauline would even come on the 16th so it'll probably be just me and looking to car pool if possible.

Jordyn did help with last year's white elephant gift, we now have a nice little boat with a cat fishing off it on our xmas tree :D I think Art, or someone, couldnt stand to take it from her.

on a side note, we almost got Randy to commit to hosting January's meeting.;) We'll start working on Chris soon. He cant miss a meeting at his own house.:D

I'm scared of commitment... Oh, and scary movies... ;) I said sometime after the new year, not January...

9th is good for us... :)

$15 limit on the ornament thingy right???

I would be able to make the 16th or 17th(the 17th works better for me) but not the weekend before(finals that week). Just my 2 cents:)

I spent an hour trying to find the bulb that was making the reindeer's butt not light up... I checked every single bulb and fuse and it still wouldn't light... Must be the wiring... But at least I had a helper... lol :D

That's awesome Randy...if I had had someone to take a picture of me I would have had the exact same photo while I checked all my lights, except with an orange cat and his mouth probably would have been open due to constant meowing.

OK guys...look...if the 16th works better for everyone...we can always do it then.

Yeah $15 Randy....everyone should get out there and go get your ornament for the gift exchange!

Well, I got used to thinking the 9th, and I may have to go to a client party the 16th... :D What time BTW???

That's what I was saying...if we wait til the 16th we get all screwed up with everyone else's parties. Dang dang dang.

Look guys...we need to get this set and start talking about food.

Way to go with the decorations Randy! We just have an undecorated tree and a few lights so far, but it will get there...

Ok, I hate to kill it for the 16th people (sorry guys!), but I think we should stay with the 9th, that's soon, so get your ornaments ready :)

Soo...I thought about chili actually (even though we did this recently, but it's a good food!), we have a new recipe that we like, so we could do that and everyone could bring "fixins" etc. Does this sound ok? Thoughts?

Matt

Fine by me. I can bring cheese dip and tortilla chips (same as I made for the last xmas party because I found the recipe this weekend).

One of these days we are going to have to have a special meeting so Chris (fishdoc) can go. hah hah.
