Chromis w/ red wound

I have 3 large blue/ green chromis in my QT tank. One has a red line on his body with some lifted scales around the area. They are in copper right now but I was wondering if I should treat this wound with something else in case it's bacterial or uronema. Or is it just an injury that will heal up on it's own?

Thanks

check with the copper's treatment directions and cautions. some copper treatments can go really bad for fish if other medications are added.

From what it sounds like, you might have a parasite. I'm not 100% sure, without pictures, but it sure does sound like it.

I had the same type of problem with chromis; I couldn't get a diagnosis for the problem, but it ended up costing me 7 fish. I think it may be bacterial. My LFS says alot of chromis have problems; I won't be buying anymore.

Actually my chromis has completely healed up on it's own. You can't even tell where the wound was as of this morning. I looked into some bacteria or fungus treatments but the next day after my post all of the raised scales were back to normal and the red spot was gone. There was still a little tuff of white fungus looking stuff but I decided to wait and see if the fungus got bigger and by this morning it had fallen off. They are still in copper so I don't know if that helped or if it was just an injury healing up. I did make a stop at the LFS I bought him at and noticed their chromis still had some similar marks on them. Hopefully it won't come back with a vengence!
