Cinnamon Clownfish Mated Pair Problem

I purchased a mated pair of Cinnamon Clowns to take care of my haddoni/ help him adjust (which they did); however, I am pretty confident that they are not mated yet. They do not sleep in the same area, the smaller one does the shake, and the larger one (female) has been attacking him like there is no tomorrow and also attacks me (she even drew blood once and is not afraid of anything :headwallblue: ). She has bitten large chunks out of both of the male's pectoral fins and I feel terrible.

Should I separate the two (the male still swims ok, but tries its best to hide from the female - she won't let him in the anemone - I just feel very bad for him) or should I just let them finish pairing since the male keeps doing the twitching?

How large are they in relation to each other and how large is your tank? Also how long have you had them for? IME tomato complex clowns can be trick to pair, I find pairing maroons easier than tomatoes.

If one is getting chunks of it's fins ripped off, it's time to separate them before it gets killed. Then wait awhile & add a much smaller one. Good luck!

The larger one is about 4" and the smaller is about 2" and they are in a 180 with only two other small fish

And I have been trying to catch one of them to no avail (can't trick them with food) so I think I'm going to make a trap
