Will cipro help split btas to heal?

Antibiotic does not help anything heal. If there is infection that is responsive to the antibiotic then it will help the anemone fight the infection

Ok that makes sense. is there anything I can add to the water to ensure my split bta heals well? it was an accidental tear.

If you BTA was/is in good shape, and your tank is otherwise fine, he should heal well without problem. Often BTA got ripped to multiple pieces going down the overflow and each larger pieces will heal and form a new anemones.

Thanks for the reply. May I ask why you treat new carpets with cipro while acclimating them? I read a lot of posts from people who do that to make sure it is healthy.

Because they ship horrible and are prone to infection. Typically the Gigs and Mags need to be treated 90% of the time.
