Right now on my 210g I have 3 Koralia magnum 8 (3200gph 18watts) . If that's right that 9600gph . Don't know if that true. I don't want to spend $675 on a Mp60 . I was thinking closed loop because my tank is running too hot. What would be the most economical and powers saving suggestions?
Thanks
Tom
Ps don't want to drill tank

Maybe try a Jebao pump or an Aqua Medic ecodrift? Reasonably priced and decent features. Their longevity is a bit of a question mark but the newer revisions seem to be holding up a little better.

Tom,
Hate to tell you but heat problems are best resolved by lighting other than MH, which I think you use.
Try a fan over the sump or tank but it will increase your evaporation.
Cheapest solution.

I would get two mp40qd's.... They are about 9000gph each and are well worth the $700 you will pay for the two....mp60's are great but you really need to pumps to avoid dead spots...

If your main pump is trimmed using a valve or the return line simply doesn't allow as much water to flow as the pump is able to pump. You can plumb another line off the discharge of main pump and simply wrap pvc over the top edge of the tank down into the tank with hole or fittings to direct the water flow where you want. Make sure to have an air break at the top of the bend (a hole that sprays water about a 1/4 inch under surface) this will stop reverse siphon when the pump shuts off.

Good luck.
