Hi all

I just saw that DeJOng got this Cirrhilabrus in. They tag them with Cirrhilabrus attenuatus.

Can anyone ID this Cirrhilabrus on the picture? For me it looks kinda like the Paracheilinus attenuatus.

ok thanks :) I am nor sure if I should get one.. These guys are not getting that big yes? I am not sure if flashers are good fishes for my tank.

how much are they selling for? that is one of the more rare flashers because of collection site from what I have read. if you are not sure on flashers id start with mccoskers trio or similar.

I do not know how much they want for them. Problem is that I ordered a C. lineatus and a red tail tamarin and they only flasher I had was a mccoskers :) The flashers dont get that big and thats the problem. My dottyback does not tolerate flashers I think.

Those guys are 350+ usd each are only available every few years.

I'd get rid of the dotty back if these are an option for you. Flashers really need to be in pairs or more to be appreciated.

They actually retail for 250-299 in the US, unless you buy it from liveaquaria then it might be more. They stay small 3"s maybe reaching 4"s and are on the more peaceful side. Mine doesn't bother any other fish in my tank and I would grab one of those over any other wrasse mentioned on this thread.

I will ask price tomorrow. When the retail price in the US is that high imagine how much I have to pay here in Switzerland :O

Im curious now.

FWIW, my P. attenuatus is the most "aggressive" fish in my 125, and there are 6 other Fairy Wrasses in the tank, including a C. Laboutei. Maybe it is just the individual personality, but mine is definitely a bold little fish! That being said, they are well worth the price of admission if you can find one!

Mine runs from every fish in my tank, including my carpenters, flame, leapord, exquisite wrasses. It also runs from the bartlett anthias and blotchy as well. A few other wrasses leave it alone but it doesn't bother them either.
