cirrhilabrus lunatus

I saw no mention of an acclimation chamber such as many of us use for social acclimation of fairy wrasses.

Sorry I was refering to the post from today. The original post had
No mention of a box because they were in qt. no need for a box, but when introduced to qt I used an acc. Box for sure

No, I don't think you understand. I am talking about a SOCIAL acclimation box for introduction into the display tank, not an acclimation process for water condition equalizing.

no i do understand fine. a clear box with holes so the fish can get used to the fish in the tank, as well as probe for possible aggression. Like I said above there was no aggression in the acclimation box. and today there is ZERO. I dont mean to come off harsh, but Im well aware of what your talking about sir.

It's my understanding that you keep new fish in an acclimation box for a while, regardless of if you perceive aggression toward the new fish or not. At least that's what I do when I use mine.

How long do you guys keep the fish in the acclimation box? I use one but probably don't keep them in there long enough, haha. It does help with the initial introduction but it seems whenever I release and the fish gets a chance to swim is when the other wrasses like to go after the newcomer.

My Hooded Fairy got a little harassment last week by my tiny tiny Adornatus female and then slight aggressiveness from my Long Fin. Nothing lasted more than a day and now he swims out more than those guys.

Whenever I've used mine, it was for at least 2 weeks. There have even been times when it's been so long, I've had to remove it and clean it of algae to the other fish could still see inside, and put the fish back in

It varies. Minimum is one lights out/on cycle. Ideally at least two feedings. Most ever has been a week. The aggression did not subside (C. roseafascia) so I moved him to a different tank.

Thanks Steve. It looks like I have a pair of Adornatus coming tomorrow and will be keeping them in the acclimation box for at least a day. I like to stick the box halfway down the tank so they are "closer" to all the other fish since my tank is 30" tall.

i keep mine in anywhere from 1 day to 3 weeks. more if needed. BTW my pair of c. adornatus is very aggressive. I just removed them tuesday. the female turned male and both of them chased each other and my male hooded relentlessly.

I actually canceled my order after reading about them being aggressive and they did cancel the payment but then I got a shipment notification anyway.

My current female is very passive except it did chase around my new Hooded on his first day but they swim together fine now. This shipment will give me a trio, which I'm hoping will be calm. If not, I already built a eggcrate and mesh wall to make catching fish a bit easier in the 220.

Yes, C. adornatus is very aggressive and is one of the ones I avoid. The males are pretty when courting, however.

I like them alot, but they are aggressive as hell IMO, whered u get them if you don't mind me askkn

Got them from LADD. I actually cancelled the order but they sent them anyway. Talked to LA and they told me they were free and would even still give me back my credit I had on file. Crazy awesome customer service.

Ugh...What do you guys think? Should I put them in the DT? I already have a female that is very passive in the DT now.

id remove the smaller 1 and start a 40b species biotope. I think im going to get about 5 small females sometime and do that myself. since i already have 2 studs. but if thats not an option you could give it a try, but they will become aggressive over time. I can almost guarentee it.
