I have been keeping this clam for 5 months now, thinking this is Tricdana Derasa. Now a friend of mine insists that Derasa should have smooth shell, and this one does not. I am confused.
If the shell is indeed not that of derasa, can it at least be T.Maxima instead? It's because the clam is only 4" long, and it hasn't grown much for the last 5 months;maybe just a little...
It is a A. squamosa. There is no mistake. The coloration, patern of the mantel, shell shape... Everything is typical of a Squamosa. it is a run of the mill squamosa.
