i am getting a job this summer, and am goign to save up for T5 form now and for a while, im goign to either get a 36 inch T5 Nove, or a 24 inch, preferable 36 inche, so ican mount it on my tank wiht th legs, which are the same as my sattelite, but i was wondering,m it would be 156 watts of T5, 4 bulbs, each 39 watts, i would do a white bulb, then 2 actinic blue, then another white, would this be enoug hlight for a crocea clam, or a maxima, if not im pretty sure this would be ample, but mybe if its not, a derasa?

the highest point in my tank is abotu 6 inches down fro mthe surface

With your set up I'd advise against a crocea or maxima. Maybe a derasa or a squamosa is a better option.

Why not saveup for a MH pendant?

A T5 can do anything a MH can do & at the same distance. Watts are watts. That setup is pretty much even from a PAR standpoint to a 175watt MH.

If you could get 6 T5's so much the better, but I'd bet the 4 will do light lovers closer to the top.

I f I recall correctly the nova t-5 are NO lights and the kind you want if you run t-5's are the HO with the individual reflectors. I bought some of the nova lights but just to use under another tank stand to light up the sump while I was working.
