Clam Placement..??

I have two clams in my 25 gallon tank. I have had my Derasa for a little over a year and its about 4"-4.5" in size. I just recently added a 2" Crocea clam. I'm trying to figure out the best placement for these two. My Derasa has recently started moving all around in the aquarium, but the Crocea has stayed pretty much in the same place on the sand since being introduced to the tank a month ago. Any suggestions on placement and/or why my Derasa would start moving randomly? Thanks in advance.

To sum it up, sometimes if they dont like the spot that they are in, you will see them slowly move around in an attempt to find a spot they are more happier with. Your Crocea is happy in the spot that he currently resides.

I'll take a photo tonight when I get home from work and post it... havent shown any pics of my tank in a about a year...

Here are a few pics of my tank... looking through some of my old pics it looks like my derasa clam has lost a lot of its color... I have had it for a little over a year and its doubled in size, but its colors are not as good...

Whats the best way to move the clams..?? should I put a flatter piece of rock underneath them and seem if they'll attach to that... than move the rocks up higher in the aquarium... Thanks again...

I moved them last night... The corcea I jsut moved to the right and up about 5 inches off the sand bed. The Crocea I moved up near the top of the aquarium and 6 inches from the top... this morning it looked like the Derasa had turned in circles a few times, but was still on his rock... I dont know if the rock I put the Derasa on is the best thing... the Crocea was happy and opened 5 minutes after I placed him near the top... We'll see... I'l ltake some pics tonight if they haven't moved all around.

Sorry it took so long.. hopefully that doesnt mean its too late for my Derasa... Here's a few pics showing how it looks.. not really good to me...

When was the last time you changed out your halide bulb?

That bulb has been running since the end of december/early Jan... so close to a year... Do you think that it needs to be changed..?? Thanks again everyone...

a 15K bulb will loss a lot of PAR after 6 - 8 months months ( and it starts with considerably less than a 10K ). this would probably explain the loss of color in your clam, is the edge of the derasa's mantle bleached? ( white ) your crocea may be in trouble too if the light conditions aren't good enough for the derasa.

i may have missed it but have you also posted your fish list and water parameters? how are you maintaining alk & Ca?

For fish, I only have two rather large damsels (you can see them in the full tank shots above for type)...

As for calcium I am using Tropic Marine bio calcium, dosed once a week... I also do water changes with the Tropic Marine salt, 4-5 gallons every two weeks...

I have not tested my water in a week, but everything was great a week ago... I ran out of testing supplies and need to order more...

I have pheonix 15K bulb on the way, hopefully it wont be too late... it'll be here on the 15th.. and soon I'll be ordering an IceCap 4x24 T5 retrofit kit in a few months.. I'll definitely be able to fit 2 of the T5s and I may be able to fit more if I build a slightly larger hood and angle to other two back into the tank... We'll see... Thats in the future... I'll keep everyone updated...

I have placed my clam all the way up...I run 2 250w MH bulbs in a 90g tank. the clam has the choice to move, but it seems to like it up top
