Clam Question???

I have seen the clams that are sold in the seafood section at the local super market. Are these OK to put in the sump? They are supposed to be alive.

Do you know what kind of clams? Do they give you any description/name other than "clam"?

They will be okay for a time, but the warm temps of the reef tank will eventually kill them.

They will also need copious amounts of phytoplankton to keep alive

I do not recall if there was a name on them. But they are about 1-1/2 inch in diameter.
But it sounds like they will not do well in a home aquarium. Was worth asking about.
