clam questions

in my set up described below would i be able to keep a maxima on my sand bed or would it have to be closer to the lights? also i have read about bowl feeding. is this only nessicary for clams under 3" or after they get so big do they start feeding off the zoo. in their mantels.

sorry for all the posts just want to do my research weel before getting one.

the only thing that i see that is questionable is the 20k bulbs.in the wild clams are found in shallow water and receive full spectrum light. some people do keep clams with the bluer bulbs, but imo you have a higher potential for problems with them.

as for the bowl feeding, clams under 2 1/2" to 3" should be feed, but they dont need bowl feeding. if your tank can handle adding live phyto right in to it with out having algae problems then thats the way i would do it. just add a small amount every day

20K is o.k.
It has a PEAK at the blue spectrum, but it still covers the other spectrums too.
