Is it ok for carpet anenomes to be taking up shop on the side of this clam--it certainly doesn't seem bothered by them?

they are carpet anenomies--they won't go peacefully
would joe's juice bother the clam--they are more on the shell and if I get the clam to retract all the way then there is no mantle close to them.

If not what would you do--fresh water dip the clam??

I wouldn't use any chemicals on clams such as joes juice. I would remove the clam by cutting the byssal threads as far away from it as possible. Then I would get a tupperware container of tank water and place the clam in it. Get a toothbrush a knife and some sturdy tooth picks and manually pick / brush the nem's from the clam. You are gonna loose the nem's but it looks like you have alot of them so I wouldn't worry too much about them, just as long as you can help the clam out.

If I don't want to cut that poor clams byssal threads again then I suppose i could scrub them off in the tank?
