clams and vho

I want to see how many of you are keeping Tridacnid Clams with just vho lighting. Please show me some pictures and what combination of lights you use.

I had my clams under 330watts of VHO 2 White & 1 03....for about a year untill I upgraded to a 250 watt MH.....This is a pic of my Blue teardrop I got from DR.Mac's.....This was under VHO for about 6 months......

Your clam looks pretty good under the vho's. Do you think it made a big difference when you switched to MH.

In all honesty I havent noticed a differance in the Teardrop, my gold max has got more light blue highlights now then it did, but major differances I have not really noticed, it's been about 4-5 months since I got the MH up and going.....

Moving to mh's probably halted the slow starvation it would have otherwise suffered. Maximas and Croceas really just don't last under anything but Mh's. "I've had one for six months and it's doing great!" doesn't work, either. 2+ years and I'll believe it :]

You metal halide guys sure go out of your way to protect your ego. And yes wattage and intensity do matter.

I have two maximas under vho and they are growing like weeds.
Grant it they are high up and its six 110 watt bulbs but none the less they are growing very very fast.
