Clams Direct group buy

Hmmm, I might be down for a nice Crocea or Maxima. If there are no Maximas, Crocea it is. Only if I can get a green one though, I already have a bright blue one.

i agree with the fact that there is almost nothing to choose from. I could only swing it if i got one of the cheeper ones. well see when enough people sign up

So we got ten now :) ....
HybridFish,
Can you email him and ask if he has any in stock that he didn't post on the web. He wants us to order soon but there aren't a lot of choices. How can we order soon????

Are they getting more stock we can pick from? There is only like one clam on the site I want, and imagine I'm not the only one that would want that one.

The site says orders MUST SHIP OUT BEFORE THE 20TH... I'll offer to keep them in my tank for everyone to pick up but I don't want to deal with the money part. Elite, you wanna manage money while I manage space?

They will have a bunch more in stock very soon but at REGULAR PRICES which is about 30% more. I'll call him today to see what he has in stock... BRB

I just review some of their prices and it looks like it's about the same as what I can get the Crocea for locally. Even more actually, I got a 4" Crocea for $30 locally. The 6+" are going for $38.

Nice and healthy

Its not just price. Clams direct has very healthy stock, plus they "usually" have a very nice selection of different patterns of clams available. Many that arent usually seen in LFS.

The only place I know that sales them and other livestock fairly cheap is Somthin Fish Sea in San Jose. The only problem is availability and selection.... just like Jedininja said.

With all the concerns of "pinching" in clams, I'd pay the clamsdirect.com price for a nice looking clam that they have quarantined before selling.

And it's not cheap any more.. :D

HybridFish,
Ask him if each of us can send him the $$ directly. That would be easiest :) ...

MUST SHIP OUT BEFORE THE 20TH?? If he doesn't have any other than what on the web then I'm out :rolleye1:

Yea, me too. Unless there are more in the back, there isn't much on there that I want.

I'm still waiting for a reply back from him. We'll find out soon enough. By the way... would anyone still be interested after they put in their new stock at regular prices?

i hate to be that guy but there are to many variables and i'd have enough trouble convincing the better half. so i'll step out of this one.:(

someone hand me the popcorn when people go at each other's throats for the precious clam that they wanted ;)

Seriously though, this isn't like a group buy on snails, drygoods or frags, there is only one of a product that you may want, not exactly something you'll settle for as you want a particular clam for how it looks right in the picture not just any clam that's left over. Now take the fact that you need all 10 people to decide in a very rapid fashion so no one else out there in the internet universe picks a particular clam. Sounds like quite the act of lunacy just trying to attempt to pull it off ;)

Now if you had a smaller number of people, you might pull it off, sure you won't get free shipping, but CA shipping will be $35, so if you get 3 people in it's an additional $12 for shipping, get 4 people $8.75, etc.. infact at 10 people even without free shipping it's still only an additional $3.50 per clam. This is one case where you might want to set your sights a little lower as far as a group buy is concerned.
