Clarkii and Anemone

So I just got two clarkii last night for my 20g. Both are about an inch big, and seem to be very happy. They both ate as soon as I put them in the tank.

I have a rock anemone and a condy (I havent seen him in a week, i assume he is just hiding somewhere, I hope).

Would the clarkii host either of these or could I get another anemone (suggest one) that they may be happier with and would do fine in my 20g?

A "sebae" anemone (( if you are referring to H. Crispa )) is a hosting anemone, and therefore will get too big for your tank. Heck, I personally wouldn't have a pair of Clarkiis in a 20 either.

Clarks get bigger than some other clowns and you might find that a 20 is to small. Having a nem for your clown to host in doesn't mean they it will. I have one tank where the clowns host in a nem and another tank where the clowns host in a corner instead of the nem that's in the tank with them. However, I agree with the above posts that a 20 is too small for a hosting nem but, thats just my opinion. :)

Like I said it's just my opinion but, I have 3 of them in a 125 and the female right now is between 2-3 inches long and I think as they grow it will get a little cramped in a 20 for them.

Here are some pics of them. I love their tails. Anyone have any clue on the starfish? I have asked my LFS and on all websites and no one has a clue.

Greg, Another solution might be to keep them in the 20 for the time being (a 20 for 2 fish an inch long is more than adequate with proper filtration and/or LR) and then maybe upgrade to a 40 breeder down the road. You could still use the 20 as a QT or a frag tank.

If you do decide to keep them, just be prepared as they will grow to at least 3 inches. I currently keep my pair in a 40 with no other fish.

Their tails will change significantly as they age. The white stripe along the top of the tail will fade away, and some (or most) of the black will also. Do a google search on adult Clarkii's to see what I'm describing.
