So i was observing my tank today and i noticed that my cleaner shrimp seems to have ALOT of eggs in her lower part of the body ( not sure wat its called). Im almost positive that they're eggs. Is there any possibility that the fry will make it? or will my fish just eat them all??

or what food cultures should i start if i'd think about trying to save them?

thanks,

Miguel

Here's a good link to a thread on Louis's experience. His attempts are the most successful ones I know of with cleaner shrimp.

cool. thanks alot. according to this reading it appears to be ALOT of work to breed these. im going to have to start cultures and stuff first.

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) breeding anything in this hobby is a full time job. And for a hobbyist its generally more expensive that its worth.

Well said sedor. Unfortunately true.

My cleaners regularly spawn. I've caught a number of the babies but I never got them to live more than 5 days. Some company in Europe supposedly mass cultures skunk cleaners but nobody knows how. My research is a little old.

i had my one my cleaners filled with eggs once and one day i looked and they were gone.. im sure everything ate them.. which isnt always a bad thing.. great food for the fish.. it would be cool if anyone is able to grow them out.. very interesting topic
