cleaning 6100's

i have 2 6100's with multicontroller.can i clean the pumps with a vinager dip?i so for how long?thanks..

i have the newer drive units.do i use a screwdriver to take them apart?thanks

No, that is the also shown after you pass the section on the older drive units, just be sure to remove and clean the upper bearing, part 3000.610 in you manual and be sure the hole in the magnet is clear of any debris.

Roger, I have never taken mine apart, only every few months give them a bleach bath to remove algae, a vinegar bath to remove calcium buildup, and a freshwater bath for a final clean. I just run them in a bucket for 30 min each bath. Never had a problem yet, should I be taking them apart every so often for an inspection or better cleaning?

Yes, here is the exact method I follow, every 3 months I run them in vinegar and water in a bucket for about 1hr. Every other time (every 6 months) I completely disassemble the pump and clean it. This is really the only way to get the more remote and small parts clean.
