Cleaning calcium from streams?

Rodger, thanks for taking care of my stream even though it was totally my fault.
I have heard that soaking rubber or plastic parts in vinegar may deteriorate them over time so what procedure do you reccomend for occasionally deep-cleaning the props/shafts on a stream? (mine is a 6055).
I have had good luck before when soaking over night in straight vinegar if that's not harmful.

Here is how I do it, it saves vinegar this way, just pour straight vinegar in the hole where impeller sits. Leave it for a about 30 minutes and then brush it out, a 1/4" tube brush is perfect for this. While you are doing this soak the drive unit in 50/50 vinegar and water, use a pipe cleaner or 1/8" tube brush to brush out the center hole. We will soon have a cleaning kit with these brushes but for now the best source is a paint gun cleaning kit, they have them at most hardware stores and any paint supply store, usually they run $10-$20. If you are going to soak the entire pump I would mix vinegar and water 50/50. Straight vinegar can damage the plastic of the cord on a nano stream.
