Cleaning hoses

Hi all, is there an easy way to clean the inside of the return line? When I removed my return pump to clean it, I noticed some buildup on the inside of the 3/4" return line. It's about 2 years old. Does anyone ever run something through to clean it out? Thanks

I've run the pump with tubing attached through a vinegar solution overnight, and that seems to clean things pretty well. Haven't tried with my return pump but works wonders with maxi-jets that supply my GFO reactor and my fuge.

I'd replace it. They can break down over time. Depends on how much of a PIA it is to do the job.

I tend to just replace vinyl tubing every few years - it gets hard and then does not like to fasten well. PVC, unless you can take it apart in to smaller sections I just leave in place. (just another reason to oversize it a bit to begin with)

This would be my suggestion:

I have always replaced hoses each year. To much trouble to clean and soak. If your gonna disconnect, might as well replace, whats it cost 20 bucks maybe and you will have new hoses. Coupled with cleaning the pump at the same time and your flow is like new.
