Cloons's Shallow Cube

This has been a dream tank of mine since getting into saltwater. I LOVE the look of shallow tanks, hopefully this one will be half as nice as some of the others on this site.

Tank:
28" x 28" x 12"
Black silicone
Euro brace
1.5" drain
3- 1/2" returns

Stand:
31" x 31" x 40"
Still needs to be finished

68lbs of live rock
60lbs of sand
Sump is a 29g
Euro-Reef ES5-3
Quietone 3000 return pump
Modded Tunze 6015 pumps for circulation
250w 14k HQI metal halide

Livestock is still undecided but will be a mixed reef.

Tank:

Stand framed up, I went tall so that I can see it from my couch or standing without bending over so much.

So far all I know is a goby/pistol combo, some chromis, and some not so common inverts.

I am very satisfied with the size of this tank.


Must haves:

Fish- Tribal blenny, pistol/goby combo
Inverts- Maxima clam, Harlequin shrimp
Coral- Orange and pink yumas

Love the tank! I always love rockwork above the water line. Are you planning to add any crabs that live right at the water line to occupy the rock above the water?

The stand will be birch that I'm gonna ebonize. The water line is off because I have too much tunze and needed to get them to stop blowing the sand around.

Thanks, I like the idea of the crabs but don't like the idea of them picking off my CUC.

Love it and also the centre rock. Maybe a waterfall down it ? What is the purpose of the top lip around the tank. Won't that be a cleaning problem ?
