I love the growth pattern and color of this coral.

Gorgeous. I like the polyp beginning to peek out about 4 or 5 o'clock. The only way I can think to improve this image would be if there was more polyp extension in general, though I believe it's not a furry coral to start with.

Did you need to move it to shoot it, or did you shoot it "as it lay"?

I like that too, and especially how the light is hitting the polyp as well. Polyps usually don't come out until the evening for me on this one.

It was in a good location for the shot but I did put a piece of black acrylic behind it. I'm going to start setting up shots a day in advance by placement and if possible putting other corals behind for effect.
