I've been having a problem with adding coral to my tank. Until around a 2 months ago things were growing great, then almost as if my tank crashed all my coral died. My fish are still healthy and not hiding. I accordingly checked the water quality to make sure all levels were correct and everything seemed normal. I waited 2-3 weeks before trying to get an anemone to start rebuilding. When dripping acclimating the anemone opened right up and looked very healthy, but as soon as it touched the top of the water in the actual tank it closed right up, and hid in the rocks. The next day I came out and it was face down in the front of my tank dead. My levels are:
Size: 65 gallon with 16X8X12 inch wet/dry sump
Temp: 78.2
pH: 7.9
Ammonia: 0
Salinity: 1.025
Calcium: 400
Any other levels I can recheck to get exact numbers or get a better test.
As far as water flow goes I have a newly installed Maxspect XF-130 (post tank "crash") running at 60% as well as the return pump from my sump. In the sump I have a Coralife 65gal Protein skimmer, Coralife 9w UV sterilizer, and filter medias (Bio balls, carbon bags, phosphate remover pad, polyfiber pad, and polishing pad). If anyone could help me that would be very appreciated. I'd be more than happy to answer any questions that would help me figure out what is going on in my tank.
