the blues do go darker and lighter due to alk swings some say. usually mine comes out looking a lil darker.

Some pics of my two colonies orange tip and yellow tips looking kind of weird. I think its due to low Alk , I raised it and they look a little better.
Some growth pics tube like numb things grow to find new rock or whatever to grow on. I turn this colony around to take pic and it decided to attach to my glass lol

I love clove polyps. I just have two types right now
These were just plain pruple when i bought them:
I just got these last week, they are already growing on the rocks. Sorry for the blurry pic, bowfront!

I love the ones in the second picture. I'm so happy to see them growing quickly already. I saw them in a reef club members tank and just had to have some. I would love to find some of the little blue ones.

Thats great to here they are growing fast for you ! So grow fast and some don't grow as fast. The blue ones are every where on the west coast. I am waiting for some from my friend once I get some I will post pictures.
I will also keep you guys updated on my clove tank build thread I will post it in the nano section and the so cal section.

Clove Pests
I have found a pest for cloves last year and I did not have a camera at the time, But I did draw this in paint
purple dot top view , green dot botton view, orange egg sacs
I finally got a picture of them from a friend
All of the white things in the picture are some kind of slug/nudis that eat cloves.
Some are that color and some are like the camouflage color ( in paint pic) . The type pictured has no optical tentacles and they don't move that much.
I found another type of nudi that was on the cloves but did not get a pic of that. Basically the other type looks like a land slug it has optical tentacles and is bleach white. They have a neon yellow dot near the rear with a small red dot on it. I am not sure if the second type was harmful it could have been a hitchhiker on accident but I found 2 of them on two separate occasions when I introduced new cloves to my tank. Unlike the slugs pictured these cruised around the tank. I didn’t want to chance it so I got rid of them both the minute I saw them lol.
I dipped all my colonies in FW for 5 mins, the cloves really hate this but they recover with a few days or up to a week, just depends. I then looked for the egg sacs and picked them of also. The FW dips will not kill the eggs. I finally think I killed all of them because I have yet to see any for months.
I suggest doing FW dips on new clove colonies before putting them in your tank and look for egg sacs on the rock.

kerry great info. fyi i have found some eggs. small but not orange. tanish in color. i will try to take a pic to help everyone with thes bad lil things.

Ok updates I moved my babies to my new bc 29 I have a 150 watt viper over it with a phoenix bulb ( which I hate so much ) anyways, with the MH I have discovered some new cloves that where together on one of my bigger colony. Neon green tips they look awesome . I also got some creamish/orange tip cloves. I hate this bulb I should be getting a DE reeflux 12 so I will get better color. Will post pics tonight
